A large part of the complexity was that there were over twenty different permission categories. Most sections were accessed by many, if not all permission groups, thus necessitating multiple design considerations.

As a data heavy site with multiple sub-sections the IA nightmare was creating, maintaining, documenting and progressively organizing an ever expanding data repository.

Of a technical interest we used WDDX to present a 15 minute delayed ticker. It can be considered an early version of JSON. We were able to display classified information to multiple set of people on the “same” page. At the time this ability was a technical marvel.
